Acharya Narendra Dev College is a constituent college of University of Delhi operating under the aegis and fully funded by Government of NCT, Delhi. Established in 1991, the college has a unique distinction of being the only college in the University of Delhi that is primarily for science. It is named after the great educationist and reformist of modern India, Acharya Narendra Dev.
Though a young college, Acharya Narendra Dev College was listed among the ten best colleges[1] in Science in the India today survey in the years 2009 and 2010.

Courses on offer are several Bachelor of Science programmes for pure and applied science streams such as B.Sc. Honours in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Botany and Zoology; B.Sc. in Physical sciences (three streams - with Chemistry, Electronics and Computer Science) and Life Sciences. It is the first college of the University to introduce the B.Sc. Honours Biomedical Sciences and the only one to run B.Sc. General in Sericulture (now B.Sc. Program in Applied Life Science with Sericulture). The College also offers the B. Com. Honours course.

The various extra curricular activities for the students are coordinated by different societies/clubs. The following is the list of these societies
The Annual Cultural Fest is held in the month of December over two-three days. The Annual Function at which the prizes for academic distinctions are awarded is held in the month of February or early March.
The college believes in promoting 'Open Source Software' and also 'Open Educational Resources'. It is the first college in the University of Delhi to migrate to Linux. It is also in the process of setting up a 'Cluster laboratory'. The Principal Dr Savithri Singh is an elected member of the International Community Council of the Wikieducator and it Vice Chair.
The Principal Dr. Savithri Singh is coordinating a collaborative elearning project on development of Open and distance Learning Certificate courses using the Wikieducator on Bamboo and Rattan through the wikieducator.
The college is open to collaborations with other Universities in the areas of common interest/ education.
One of the teachers, Dr Sarita Kumar, has been honoured by the Government of NCT of Delhi as a meritorious teacher[2] - she won a certificate and Rs 75,000/-. In the year 2009 Dr Sarita Kumar along with Dr M,S. Rajeswari and Dr. Seema Makhija had been hounoured as distinguished teachers by University of Delhi on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
